Almond Butter Recipe – Homemade Almond Butter

I focused all of my attention on the title of this fantastic almond butter recipe, which only has one ingredient: almonds. This homemade almond butter is an excellent alternative to store-bought nut butter that may contain additional, potentially harmful ingredients.

Even better, this recipe only takes a minute to prepare! In comparison, blending in a food processor takes 20 minutes.

Let’s get this party started without further ado!

How to Make Almond Butter at Home?

To begin, roast your almonds in a 350°F preheated oven for 9-12 minutes. Make sure it’s distributed evenly. Some of you may have to wait longer for your food to roast because not all ovens are created equal. Add another 1-2 minutes if this is the case.

Consider the case below:

The first time I roasted almonds, I didn’t cook them long enough (which I realized after blending). To put it another way, it took me around 6 minutes to make creamy, spreadable almond butter.

Roasting almonds also releases natural oils (which make blending easier) and, most importantly, flavor.

After baking, allow an hour for it to cool to room temperature. Before using it, make sure it has totally cooled. Here’s why:

Vitamix containers can handle hot soups, but once they hit the boiling point, they aren’t safe. Furthermore, the almond butter will grow hotter after blending due to friction.

Recommendations

Unfortunately, you can only make almond butter with a Vitamix blender or other high-powered blenders. You may also make it in a food processor, but it will take around 20 minutes, as I mentioned previously.

Now, for this recipe, you’ll need at least 4 cups of almonds. If you use less than 4 cups, the blades will struggle to reach and crush all of the ingredients.

Assume that you won’t need a lot of nut butter. A 48-ounce jug will be a wonderful addition to your Vitamix arsenal in that scenario.

By the way, raw almonds are also an option. However, you’ll need to add 3-4 tablespoons of neutral oil in this case.

A tamper is also necessary for the almond butter. It can be used to press materials to the blades and scrape any ingredients that have adhered to the side of the pan. You don’t have to be gentle, but you shouldn’t be harsh either—just enough pressure to shift the components around.

Here are some more details:

To make the process easier afterward, use parchment paper when roasting the almonds.
